Step-by-Step
Create a new HYPERSIM model
File → New → choose folder, name it, click Save
Open the Network Import tool
Network ribbon section → Network Import
Select PSS/E as source format
Provide the .raw file path
Browse to your PSS/E *.raw file
For dynamic data: your *.dyr file must have the exact same name as the *.raw file and be in the same directory — HYPERSIM will auto-detect it
You cannot import a .dyr file alone without a .raw file
Configure import options (optional)
Replace machines by sources — substitutes all machines with ideal voltage sources
Group machines with controls — merges machines + controllers into a subcircuit
Click Import and wait for confirmation
Review reports & run network analysis
Check the generated logs for ignored/unsupported components
Use the Analyze button (Network section) to catch errors — e.g., replace parallel CP transmission lines with PI lines if decoupling errors occur
