Overview
A PMSG-based aggregated Type 4 wind farm model with back-to-back converters, DC-link regulation, and wind-speed event scenarios.
This example demonstrates an aggregated Type 4 wind farm based on a permanent magnet synchronous generator and back-to-back converter structure. It complements the PV seed models and helps ensure the community launch content covers more than one renewable technology.
The model is useful for studying wind-speed changes, DC-link behavior, reactive power control, and turbine response to voltage events. It also gives renewable developers and grid planners a practical model to build discussion around wind plant EMT studies.
Key Features
- Aggregated utility-scale wind farm representation
- PMSG-based Type 4 architecture
- Wind-speed and voltage sag scenarios
- Good baseline for wind integration and controller studies
Getting Started
- Open Type4_WindFarm_33kV.ecf from Renewable Energy
- Run the default case with nominal wind speed
- Test wind-speed changes and voltage sag scenarios
- Review grid power, DC-link regulation, and turbine control response
